William Gordon Real Estate Consulting

William E. Gordon is a real estate consultant with expertise in creating stable and economically vibrant, mixed-income communities through real estate and economic development initiatives. Mr. Gordon works with both non-profit groups and private developers. The vast majority of his projects include affordability components, allowing for serving a low income population in need of support services.

He has over 24 years experience developing affordable housing and commercial space through government and private sector funding programs, housing and community advocacy and construction oversight. He has extensive experience partnering with local, state and federal agencies to develop historic, low-income family, elderly and handicapped housing.

While serving as Vice President of The Community Builders (TCB) for Southern New England and as a private consultant for over 12 years, William has developed over 2,700 units of historic, low-income, family, elderly and handicapped housing and approximately 200,000 sq. ft. of commercial space. Funding for these 57 projects totals over $480 million and relies on the use of Historic, Low Income and New Market Tax Credits as well as funds from HUD, local and state agencies (CT, RI, MA finance agencies) and other programs designed to support affordable housing and economic development activities. Gordon has a deep understanding of how to structure projects utilizing varied funding sources and develop detailed project proforma and overall housing programs that respond to the programmatic needs of his clients.

Gordon holds a BA in English and History from Oberlin College, Oberlin, Ohio and an MS in International Development Administration from the School for International Training (S.I.T.) in Brattleboro, Vt.
