Veteran Housing Support

Veterans for Tomorrow participates in the HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing program, also known as HUD-VASH. This program combines rental assistance with case management and clinical services for eligible veterans.

Through the HUD-VASH program:

  • Eligible veterans receive Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance

  • Residents pay a portion of the rent based on program requirements

  • The local public housing agency pays the remaining approved amount

  • Veterans receive case management and supportive services through the Department of Veterans Affairs

About the Property

Veterans for Tomorrow LLC was established in Rhode Island in 2012 to provide affordable supportive housing for veterans experiencing homelessness.

In 2013, the organization acquired and renovated a historic mill building, creating 20 affordable residential units in Providence. The property is supported through a Section 8 housing program and is regulated by Rhode Island Housing.

Affordable Housing Requirements

The property qualifies for federal low-income housing tax credits under Section 42 of the Internal Revenue Code. Its tax-credit compliance period continues through 2030.
